Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper May 2021 challenge

This is my design card for my Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper May 2021 challenge. .If you make anything that includes some patterned paper you can link your entries and you might be the randomly chosen winner of the lovely prize that I'm giving away. Please click on the challenge link to find out more and join in the fun.

This is a commissioned 8 x 8 card using papers and elements from Crafter's Companion Full Blooms 12 x 12 paper pad. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the middle edges of the pink and gold paper. Some elements are raised up with 3D foam. Sadly, it's difficult to see the gold foiled roses that are between the other elements ... and the leaves in the right hand corner have been obliterated by a bit of over-exposure - they should look like the ones in the bottom left hand corner.

Experimenting

I had used Lisa Horton's lovely Roses embossing folder with a piece of white card and had also saved the outside of a die cut I'd used earlier with some silver matt mirror card using Lisa's nested scalloped die.

I thought I would experiment and brushed across the embossed roses (not being too careful) with versamark before then covering with detail silver embossing powder and heating. I then covered the rest of the area by brushing with pink oxide distress ink. The card was finished off with the Dovecraft birthday greeting and the silver gems in the corners.

It's not perfect, but I think it was a good experiment using dry and wet embossing together.

Everything was then added to a tent style opening white card blank.

Happy birthday

For this card I used the lovely Dahlia 3D embossing folder by Lisa Horton, using pearlescent gold card, sanding the surface of the embossing to reveal the white, then using the outline die to cut and emboss the dahlia to layer with 3D foam, having swiped it with an oxide distress ink pad. The 3D felt bee is one that I've had for quite some time. Everything was then layered on to gold mirror card and a white card blank with a peel off Happy Birthday in the right hand bottom corner.

1st birthday

This is the card I made and sent to my youngest grandchild who was one on Friday. I created the repeated Birthday greetings background digitally on computer, adding a free download of Elmer the elephant. I played around with addition the lettering on to Elmer (had to print out and adjust a few times to get it right), then printed everything and mounted on to an 8 x 8 card blank.

Wishing you a happy birthday

This is a card I've just finished with silver grey and yellow pieces of pearlescent card using Lisa Horton's nested scalloped & plain circles dies and her Prism 3D embossing folder. The sentiment was made with one of Lisa's double layered sentiments - stamped, heat embossed with pirate gold powder and die cut, with die cut mat. I then added the gems at the corners.

Thinking of you

This is a card I made yesterday with silver grey and yellow pieces of pearlescent card using Lisa Horton's nested scalloped & plain circles dies and her Layered Petals 3D embossing folder (I made the mistake of debossing instead of embossing, but thought I'd still use it), with a circle sentiment in the middle.

Happy Anniversary

A couple of days ago I had a request for an urgent card to be sent to a sister and brother-in-law on their wedding anniversary. A few days ago I had used some pearlescent card run through the lovely magnolia embossing folder by Lisa Horton, running it through a second time and fussy cutting some of the flowers to then layer up on the embossed piece and also to add to the edges of the 'with love' from Kanban on to the 8 x 8 card. The sentiment was created and printed and matted on to pink card matching the mat for the embossed panel.

Pink for Pinspirational 276:

I used a piece of the piece card and the 'with love' on the inside with a piece of Happy Birthday card from Dawn Bibby that I've had for years .... difficult to see the wording because it's pastel, but delicately foiled.

Fly the flag

I was asked to make a card for someone in the Salvation Army, using a picture of the flat, of a lady's hat and the Bible. I've made quite a few of similar ones before commissioned by the retired Salvation Army officers. The backing paper is an offcut from a 12 x 12 Kay & Co paper.
