An interesting doorway

When John and I were in Eastbourne recently we caught the bus to East Dean and had a wander around, stopping for coffee in between. I came across an interesting doorway - I loved the stonework of the wall and the solid wood door, as well as the post where a gate had originally been attached. So when I saw the theme for this week's Inspiration Avenue ' doorways and windows' I knew that I wanted to share this photo:

When I took the photo I thought that perhaps I would be able to use it for one of Suzie's 365 photos ... and it so happens that for Day 240 today it's 'free choice', so I'm linking this for that too.

This is also for Order of the opus gluei 138: me and my camera - celebrating a photo.

  4. What a lovely doorway! Don't you wish you knew who lives behind it? Especially pretty with the iris in front welcoming you.

  9. this is a cool picture and that doorway looks like there is a ton of history behind it...where we live the oldest of old buildings are around 100 years old and the majority of stuff is newer build types, so it is always awesome to see places that look sooo antiqued...thanks for joining in at the opus gluei this week!

  10. That is a great picture. What a fabulous door. I lived a bit down the road from Eastbourne when I lived in the UK. I loved that area.
