I've just found out that I was awarded shoe of the week for my card for challenge 3 over on If the Shoe fits, which means that I can put the appropriate blinkie on here (will do that tomorrow). Thank you so much to that blog for choosing my card, which is this one.
Also, as you can see here, my number was randomly picked as the winner for challenge 16 on Pile it on.
My number has also come up on Crafty Pad challenge 38 - I get a turn as a guest designer sometime soon - watch this space!

A silly mistake
This is a card that I made a few days ago - unfortunately, I made a silly mistake.
I originally made it for Fashionista Friday 2 on If the shoe fits, which was a sketch. Silly me, I went to the shoe blog to get the sketch and saw the first card on that challenge pageand proceeded to make a card to that 'sketch'. It was only after I'd made it that I realised that the card was the one that had won the previous challenge and the sketch was underneath - so, in fact, I hadn't done the sketch for the challenge, but had card lifted from Susan Z!! Thank you Susan for such a super card that inspired me so much that I didn't look further down to find the right sketch!!
So, this is the card I made, using HOTP papers and stamps, adding a coin etc:

The toile strip is actually a linen type of ribbon. This makes the card suitable for 365 cards 168 challenge: a touch of toile.

Continuing my Rosie-Dee catch up!
This was the challenge for week 52 on Rosie-Dee: 'This months theme of SHAPES continues with a recipe. So, we'd like to see 2 squares and a rectangle on your project this week please.' There are definitely at least 2 squares on my card and one rectangle (and one or two more squares).
For this I decided to use the sketch for challenge 17 on Creative Inspirations this week:

The current challenge on Our Creative Corner is 'monochromatic mania - 'This week we are making monochromatic cards. You can incorporate as many colors of one shade onto your card/project. You may also use neutrals (White, Cream, Kraft, and Black).' I suppose I've cheated a tiny bit (but it is only a tiny bit) in that there is a hint of green here and there, but I think I'll get away with the overall impression of various shades of pink.
The two images were ones that I originally made for a twinchies challenge on Something Completely Different (another challenge blog that I haven't done anything for for a while - and would like to get back to). The pictures of the girls were taken from a Crafty Individuals pad, but the backgrounds of the two images were stamped with a paisley stamp. This means that this card qualifies for the Banana Split Sunday challenge on 2 red bananas: easy as 1, 2, 3: 1 piece of ribbon, 2 stamps and 3 dew drops or gems.

All behind like the donkey's tail!
There are some challenges that I don't like to miss, but it's not surprising that, with the way things have been with John in recent months, crafting has had to be somewhat erratic. Because of the treatment John is currently having on his foot, he, once again, isn't allowed to put his weight on that foot, so only absolutely necessary walking indoors. That gives me more to do, but it does mean that on non-hospital days I can usually fit in a bit of crafting.
So, I'm trying to catch up with the recent Rosie-Dee challenges, so this card is for challenge 51, for which there was a sketch and 'We want to see at least one circle and one oval.'

It's a simple card, with BG granola papers and oval and flowers by Deni Designs:

Now to check their blog for the next September Shape challenge that I've missed.

Quick sketch card
This was the super Sunday sketch for day 204 on 365 cards:

I've made a quick card, using components from Dena designs (good to have handy when time and energy is limited):

365 cards day 208: challenge combo - with spots
For day 208 on 365 cards we were asked to make a card combining at least one challenge from each of June, July and August challenges. I chose day 118 'I've been framed' for June, 146 'mirror me' for July and 181 'white space' for August.
It's a simple card using elements from Dena Designs and some sticky spotty ribbons. As the ribbons are spotty, I'm linking for Paper Play week 36: 'spot this'.

A distressed cat? No way!
This card is for Get Sketchy 7:

The bonus challenge for Get Sketchy 7 is 'distressing'. The background behind the frame is Core'dination 'whitewash' - pink with a white backing that is revealed when sanded - I used one of the BG tools to do this - the scan doesn't make it look as white as it is for some reason. 'Sanding' is the 'try a technique' on 365 cards today (day 210), so I'm linking there. And it's another one for Cupcake 58: distressing techniques.
Taylored Expressions key ingredients challenge is 'paper distressing', so this card is good for that.
The background paper is BG euphoria, so I'm linking as another card on the BG challenge blog for week 4: embossing, having embossed using one of my favourite cuttlebug folders. The frame, cat and butterfly are Dena designs.

Another bright card
For this card I've used the lovely sketch for challenge 60 on Cutie Sunday:

The theme this week on Pile it on for challenge 16 is 'punches'. Because I've got a cuttlebug and cricut (as well as a robo that has been neglected for quite some time now - must use it!) I possess very few punches - the ones I do have are mostly corner punches. For fancy edging I tend to use my rotatrim, which is how I got the scallops on this card, putting the holes in with the 'big bite', which is, after all, a punch - mind you, I don't think I punched the holes very well - blame it on the quality of the piece of red card - but perhaps I was going for the distressed look!
The idea of the Pile it on blog is to see how many other challenges you can use, so this card is also for:
Day 164 on 365 cards: Color scheme:

Keryn Campbell colour challenge 25:

One stop craft challenge 48: die cuts (as well as the punched border I've used the die cut chippie cake, balloons and sentiment.

Bright colours
This card is for sketch 134 on CPS:
.jpg)
I used bright colours to tie in with the colour scheme challenge for day 205 on 365 cards. These were the colours we were asked to use:

I think I managed to include all of them. The card also includes the colours asked for in challenge 61 for Color Throwdown:

I also used buttons for Whimsy stamps challenge 20: 'buttons, buttons, who's got buttons?' and for 'B is for button' for challenge 10 on Paper Cutz - using at least three buttons (I love using buttons, so it was no hardship).
The crisscross paper is from the BG lemonade range and the stamped image is one that I did in May for a twinchie challenge (I blogged about it here).

Young crafters
Paul came to see us today with the girls - it was lovely to see them. When Paul and Danielle went over to McD's to get lunch for us (to save me cooking - but I had made a trifle for afterwards) - Chloe and Faye decided to do some drawing:

After lunch the girls went into the garden to get rid of some energy - they played hide and seek for quite a while - at one stage I had to go and hide - went behind the shed, which I suppose was an obvious place, so Chloe soon found me.
Grandad John couldn't step out into the garden, so he sat in the doorway of my craft room so that he was included.

After a while, the girls came in and did a bit of serious crafting - stamping up images and colouring them in.
Can you guess what Faye's favourite colour is?

Chloe was taking her crafting very seriously:

And so was Danielle:

They all seemed to be pleased to be crafting in Nana's room.

And before they went home I stamped up quite a few images for them so they could take them with them to colour them.
Lol - Net asked if there was any trifle left - no chance - it went quicker than the time it took to make it - at least it was enjoyed!

Christmas tagging
This card is based (fairly loosely) on this week's sketch challenge on My Creative Clutter:

The theme for this week on Lots to do for challenge 38 is 'tags' and this card has a tag on it.
This card is another one for challenge 18 on C.R.A.F.T. 'no backing paper'.
Alphabet challenge blog this week has reached X - oh dear, what can I possibly think of for X - except eXcited about making Christmas cards!
This card also fits One Stop Craft challenge 47: beary nice.
And another one for 'snowflakes in September' for challenge 19 on Allsorts.
The main picture and the tag have been decoupaged - you can just catch a glimpse of that because I had to take the photo side view to avoid reflection in the mirror card.

King of the jungle
It so happened that on the very day that I received a couple of stamps that I won on ebay, including this large Magenta lion one, the topic on 365 today is 'it's a jungle out there', so I couldn't resist using the stamp straight away.
It's one of those stamps that is so finely etched that you can barely see any detail on the rubber - and it needs a fine ink pad. I had a few goes with various ink pads before I settled on the one that I'd first thought would be the best - versafine - the only trouble being that I didn't have a brown, so I had to use black (note to self: buy a versamark brown).
I used a sketch from a challenge that I've already done a card for - it's simple, but quite effective. It's Card Patterns sketch 33:

The challenge on this week's Stamp Something is to choose a favourite LO or sketch - although I've only come across this one this week, I'm going to link for that, because it is very unusual for me to use one twice like this - and I'm sure I'll be using it again.
The theme on this week's Inspire me Thursday is an open one, so I'm choosing to link this card there for that.
I stamped the lion on to a piece of orangy BG obscure paper, which I think gave just the right hint of colour as I had to use black ink.
C.R.A.F.T. challenge 18 is 'no backing paper' - this card achieves that.

PS - I wouldn't normally be this cheeky, but it's now post midnight (I know, I should be in bed, but we've had such bad nights it's difficult to know when to be in bed and when not to be) - anyway, the new Saturday challenge for Lots to Do is now up on their blog and the theme for week 39 is 'black, orange and one other', which fits to well with this card - the one other being brown - and it was newly made tonight, so I hope it will count.

Bumbleberry fat book group
I had the privilege of joining in a group to make a fat book on Bumbleberry forum. The topic was' I, me, myself' and each person in the group made a page. They were all sent to Kathy (thank you, Kathy), who sorted them and sent them out to us so that we each got a page from everyone, including one of our own pages back.
As usual, you can get a better view by clicking on the pictures.
These are the pages that I did, using various papers from BG wisteria:

This is mine that I received back:

These are all six pages:

They are gorgeous, aren't they?
I now need to make a cover and make them up into a book - will use my BIA for that.

Not sure with shabby chic
A little bit of crafting (well, it actually took me quite a time) after another long day up at Guy's with John.
I wanted to do something for the DCM 'shabby chic' dare, but whether this is shabby enough or chic enough, I'm not sure!
The papers are unknown, but I think they came within a BF kit, as did the lace and the flowers, which were originally completely white, so I tinged them with orchid chalk ink. The image is Hero Arts 'Gracious Lady' (I've been wanting to get hold of this for ages and managed to win it on ebay a few days ago, so this is the first time I've used it). I stamped it on to a piece of slightly patterned paper (wish I'd taken a photo of what it looked like before I stamped) and coloured in her hat and coat with copics. The paper beneath the image has been embossed with the cuttlebug script embossing folder, torn and distressed with chestnut brown chalk ink.
The colours used are for challenge 28 on Colour Create, together with the option of pearls and swirls (I twirled some wire around a string of pearls so that I could twist it into swirls).
Week 6 on Stamp, Scrap and Doodle is a recipe: 'any image; 3 designer papers; 1 ribbon/lace', all of which are on this card, because the image is stamped on patterned paper.
It's also good for these challenges:
Day 160 on 365 cards was 'lovely lace'
Our Creative Corner: A yummy colour combo: 'light pink, hot pink, brown, and white.'
Tanda Teaser 117: text it! - 'use text in your card somewhere'.
Theme Thursday: script/writing

Kewl colours for the boys
These are the colours given for the Easy Breezy Kewl Colour challenge for this week:

I've based my card on this sketch for day 162 on 365 cards:

Last week's Saturday Secret Crafter challenge 39 was: teenage boys (I know it's a bit late for this, but thought I'd still include it - intended to do a card for it last week, but never got it done).
Challenge 15 on the Treehouse is: just around the corner - just right with the rounded corners of this sketch.
The background paper is from K & Co Addison and the sporty paper in the middle is English Paper Co.

What's on your workdesk?
When I was bloghopping I found that some of my crafting friends had been taking photos of their workdesk today and showing on What's on your workdesk Wednesday - so I thought I'd join in, although tbh I've reached the stage this evening where the keyboard is in front of the computer and some of the crafting stuff put away - but you can also see that a lot hasn't been put away. I've been using my cricut earlier this evening and there are still some cards in front of my from yesterday. The pile of papers over by the cricut contains some BG pads that just happened to have been delivered today (they will top up my already big supply nicely!)

If you haven't yet been to look on WOYWW, then why not go and have a nosey? - it's a great opportunity to have an insight into other people's crafting spaces. I think I'll be back next Wednesday - and then perhaps I'll take a photo when I'm in mid-stream crafting rather than afterwards like tonight.

Using bubblewrap
This card uses the sketch for challenge 33 on Stamps and Smiles The Fresh Batch:

The background is done with bubblewrap inked and stamped with Brilliance pearlescent purple and Stazon vibrant violet - some with large circles and some with small. This is the technique this week on Saturday's Workout challenge 73. For today's challenge (day 207) on 365 the topic is: DIY: patterned paper - 'This time, it's gotta be patterned paper. You can do this any way you want, but you have to start with a clean slate, so-to-speak.'
Challenge 16 on Creative Inspirations called for the use of lilac, purple and grey, which are all on this card. And challenge 38 on Crafty Pad says: 'Let's see at least 1 circle and the colour purple on your creation.'
I came across a challenge blog for cricut users called Just Buggin' - this week: 'For Challenge #4: Use the Black out feature of any cartridge for your project!' The lilac scalloped circle was cut from a blackout on 'accent essentials' and the two other circles from 'a walk in my garden'.

'Christmas in August' Simon Says goodies
I've received the goodies that I got with my 25$ from the 'Christmas in August' draw on Simon Says - you can read about it here.
I think I chose well - I am so pleased with my selection of goodies - thank you, Simon Says.

Some favourite papers
This card is for the Truly Scrumptious challenge 16 sketch, although I'm afraid I didn't use three stamps (in fact, I didn't use any), so I might be revisiting this sketch to do this additional part of the challenge.
Favourite papers and colours are the theme of this week's Stamp Something, so I'm linking for that.

The card is also good for:
The Color Dare 34: certainly blush chocolate
Cupcake 58: distressing techniques - I distressed the embossed Happy Birthday sentiment with an ink pad.
Created by hand: texture - the embossing, the flowers etc.
BG 4: embossing - the embossed HB sentiment is a cuttlebug folder. The BG papers I used are sugared and porcelain.
Today's challenge on 365 (day 206): Tuesday triplets - Three is the thing on this challenge. I want to see three of everything - anything you want, but if you have one blossom then you need to add 2 more - make sense? The only thing that can be just one is the sentiment. I used 3 patterned papers, 3 flowers, 3 buttons, 3 brads, three spiky circles (using nestabilities).

'Dress' card
This card uses the sketch on My Creative Clutter for their Saturday challenge:

The Inkadinkado dress stamp is one by Dawn Houser - I think it's beautiful. I stamped with rilliance Pearlescent crimson and then lightly water-brushed. Papers are BG sugared.
(I've just realised how much my scanner glass needs cleaning - the marks really show up on the white!).
As well as My Creative Clutter, this card is good for these challenges:
Stampavie and more 61: think pink
C.R.A.F.T. 17: pink and brown
Our Creative Corner colour combo: light pink, hot pink, white, chocolate chip

Christmas Serendipity
Day 198 on 365 cards was: make a mosaic.
I've used some serendipity squares that I've had in my Christmas bits box since last year - I thought they were just right to use for this challenge - and that's a quick Christmas card made (didn't take long at all because the squares had already been done). The background paper is PM a wonderful Christmas time:
