Congratulations ...

... on your graduation.

This is the latest card I made yesterday, commissioned by a neighbour. It was one of those cards where I knew what I wanted to achieve, but couldn't quite get it how I wanted it. I spent time with another free png image with a mortar board and scroll, but whatever I did the black didn't come out printed well, it was a bit stripey ... whatever I tried to do ... it looked OK on screen, but not when printed out.

I persevered and found this free png image on the internet and digitally brought it to the front over the repeated words that I'd already created, adding the 'on your graduation'.

From the beginning of thinking through the card I knew I wanted to use the Congratulations edgeable die, another in the gemini set from Crafter' Companion. I cut this using a piece of red mirror card.

I was pleased with the result and so was my neighbour.

Christmas in green

Once again the other day I used the lovely Papermania Urban Home by Christmas stamp which I inked with memento cottage ivy and, this time, I didn't heat emboss - stamped directly on to the card blank. I just added the washi tape top and bottom.

This is a large stamp so I used my Rare Earth load n fold so that I could re-ink if any bits weren't stamped well - it's good to be able to do that.

With sympathy

For this card I used one of my favourite Penny Black stamps which I always think goes well on a sympathy card. I randomly stamped the sparklers stamp inked with memento grape jello on to a piece of textured card, matting this on to the white card blank. I then used the same stamp inked with versamark and heat embossed with detail white on to the square of purple card. The sentiment stamp was from Hobbycraft inked with the grape jelly again.

A commissioned card that I made some time ago, but didn't show on my blog. Background papers by Kanban and all the 3d stickers from  Poundland. I printed the sentiment on to a piece of Crafter's Companion Centura pearl which gave me enough time to throw on some detail silver powder and heat emboss. Than I cut and embossed with a todo die.

Christmas in red

Very similar to the previous card, this time the Papermania Urban Home by Christmas stamp was inked in red and heat embossed with clear detail powder - straight on to the card blank. Once again, a small Kanban topper was added.

I tried to show the lovely gloss that the embossing has produced, but very difficult to see this in a photo.

Home by Christmas

Another one layer card made by inking the Papermania Urban Home by Christmas stamp with versmark and heat embossing with detail gold powder. I added a white and silver snowflake from Italian Options at the top left and bottom right, but they don't really show up here. The embossing powder has really made the image so lovely and glossy - difficult for the camera to pick up, but I took the photo at a angle so at least a bit of it shows up. The little square topper is an old one from Kanban.

Happy new home

A commissioned new home card that I made a while ago, using up various offcut pieces of patterned paper, a left over piece of ribbon, a key that had been lurking in my supplies all by itself, no idea where it came from and some of the little wooden houses that I think originally came from The Works ... some time ago.

I'm joining in the Pixie playground ... I haven't been in there much and I so want to get back, even if it's only to sit on a bench and watch everyone else ... it you don't know what I'm talking about, click on the challenge link below.

Happy 35th anniversary

This was a comissioned 8 x 8 card using background by Hobby House, an offcut piece from DCWV Meriposa paper and various stickers, sentiment and letters. The recipients love cats, hence the inclusion of them.

Sorry, the photo is a bit too dark ...  and the card has gone now.

Thinking of you

Another CAS card I made yesterday using another Crafter's Companion gemini edgeables (I'm loving these ... so glad I bought them). This time it's die cut into silver holographic paper and mounted on to textured card blank, with the addition of the flowers. This time I ran the die cut through my zyron in order to stick the delicate bits on.

It's difficult to get a photo when holographic is used, so I'm showing two at different angles.

Simply birthday

I couldn't resist making another similar card with one of the other edgeables in the set from Crafter's Companion, this time using the Happy Birthday, cutting an offcut piece of Hunkydory adorable scorable. I didn't glue under the lovely edging - it just gives a bit of dimension. The large yellow flower has been in my stash for years - it seemed to be just right for the card with the little flower added.

The yellow is a lot more sunshiny irl ... it's gone a bit dull here now.

This is for:

Simply thank you

For this CAS card, a white card blank on to which is the die cut with the lovely gold card (an offcut piece) die cut with the Crafter's Companion gemini edgeables (I bought the set recently). It was very fiddly putting little dots of glue on the centres of the flowers. I'm really tempted to add something, but I quite like it just CAS.

The background is Hunkydory card, wavy sentiment strip from Hobbycraft, snowflakes from The Words and that lovely red foiled reindeer (I think it' from Kanban ... been in my Christmas stash for some time, along with a few others).
